**It is THAT season.**

Labor day is over, and that usually means; it is THAT season.

I heard my wife scoff the other day when she saw an ad for some kind of pumpkin spice flavored something, and she yelled out, it is THAT season already?

The humor of having pumpkin spice flavored communion wafers is not as funny as the ‘Bros and Beers’ Men’s Group.

(Seriously, I went to a church that was proud of that group.)

Those wafers make as much sense as a church focusing on Community Connections, Health & Wealth Ministries, or usually all of the Singles Ministry.

Sadly, it is a vain attempt to get people from the world inside the church.

Just to preach, teach and reach people about the lifestyle OUTSIDE the church.

Too many churches are preaching the World…NOT The WORD!

☆ See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.

• Colossians 2:8

Yes, it is THAT season where many churches spend so much time and money on ways to increase their attendance, and their bottom dollar (Tithing), by using the corporate standards of:

• Trend Analysis

• Marketing

• Comparative Studies

• Focus Groups

That is NOT the way that Christ set up the church.

But these churches are set up with the mindset of corporations.

Christ’s Church is organic. A naturally holistic entity.

Alive…A BODY.

☆ For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit.

• 1 Corinthians 12:13

We may have different gifting’s,

~ But ~

But are not in different departments.

We may have different strengths

~ But ~

But we are of the same power source

Again, it is THAT season.

The Fall Season.

That means the holidays are coming.

More darkness in the world.

More darkness in the hearts.

Let us not be swept up in a church using the current trends that will fade fast, but let us engage in a church that lives IN THE TRUTH OF THE WORD that will never fade.

Find a church that can say they are this;

☆ Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

• Colossians 3:16

Because if you have a church like that…Pumpkin Spice Communion wafers could get by…at least once.
