Proverb 13 reminds us of this one absolute in life:
‘The truth will set you free’ (But usually only after it pisses you off!)
Too many Christians today do not want to hear anyone share into their life any constructive criticisms or helpful corrections.
They don’t have any problems telling OTHERS how to live their lives better,
but there is a strong ‘don’t tell ME what to do!’ culture in the world that bleeds into the church.
When we hear, with an open mind, and a humble heart, the loving encouragement of another brother or sister in Christ,
- Builds us,
- Lifts us, and
- Strengthens us
Into becoming the person God wants us to be.
Because as this scripture says: When we DO accept that correction, we are honored!
- To let that truth not only make you better, and
- To let that truth not only set you free, but
- To let that truth honor you in God’s eyes.
Let us all be THAT person!
