Do you know anyone who answers almost every statement with;

“I Know.”?

I have been acquainted with many of them over my lifetime.
Most of the times, they did NOT know.

In the church, there are so many people who claim to know.
Those people may not be claiming to know everything…but that they know A LOT.
There are also those people who also find it necessary that YOU know, that THEY know – A LOT.
Those two groups of people may be the exact same people
I know…I WAS that guy.

But the Lord speaks about those people in the Church.
Those people who know about the church, the prophecies, the miracles, and so on.
Those people are great about knowing ‘about’ God.

On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name? ‘
And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’
   • Matthew 7:22-23

The pride of what they knew about God was their downfall.
But, the humility of actually knowing God IS our salvation.

So many people still believe:
The knowledge they receive,
By the actions they do,
In the name of the Lord,
Is what will bring them closer TO the Lord.
I know. I WAS that guy.

But that is such a hollow way to walk with God.
It is an attempt to change our inside, but the actions of our outside.
It may change how we think in our minds, but it probably won’t change how we love in our hearts.

THAT:
It is all about the way of the work OF the believer.
But not the way of work God wants IN the believer.

☆ And we also thank God constantly for this, that when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men but as what it really is, the word of God, which is at work in you believers.
   • 1 Thessalonians 2:13

In this verse, the scripture is not talking about how much we know the Word…He is speaking about how much we LIVE the Word.
When the Word of God works IN us, it completely changes us!

• How we see life.
• How we receive life.
• How we respond in life.
• How we behave in our life.

It is all different when we walk in the light of the Word, and in the Glory of God.
But that is not clear to those who always believe that they know it all.
I know. I WAS that guy!

Jesus was telling those people in our first passage, that they were living a lie.
They were NOT the Godly people they thought they were.
They were NOT inheriting the kingdom of heaven like they expected they would.
They did NOT know the TRUTH.

So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
   • John 8:31-32

However, the last two scriptures tell us;
As we surrender to God in our hearts, it will completely change us.
As we’ve changed, we choose to live for HIM in ALL ways in our lives.

Then we will live in the truth.
Not just ‘a’ truth, or ‘our’ truth.
But THE TRUTH.

Which allows us to live in a freedom that only GOD could give us.
I know…I AM that guy…today.

I love you guys!
