Talk Politics? Hows this:
Being right as a Christian, means doing right as a citizen,
Unless doing right as a citizen, means being wrong as a Christian.
What Paul says in today’s scripture is that saying.
As is this verse:
☆ Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men.
• Acts 5:29
But today’s culture is the opposite of that saying AND that verse.
We now see that any opposing political viewpoint that may be expressed today, seems to be recieved with not just resistance,
but with out and out rebellion or even a call for revolution.
THAT IS ON BOTH SIDES!
That is not how God wants us to be seen.
As Peter states;
☆ Be subject for the Lord’s sake to every human institution, whether it be to the emperor as supreme, or to governors as sent by him to punish those who do evil and to praise those who do good.
• 1 Peter 2:13-14
This should be done for a many reasons:
1. It removes anger or bitterness within our spirit.
2. It makes getting along with others so much easier
3. It calms a heart so that wisdom can thrive and better understanding can live.
But the most important reason (As we continue with Peters passage);
☆ For
THIS IS THE WILL OF GOD
that by doing good you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish people.
• 1 Peter 13:15
God has a plan.
No one serves, but that God has had His eye on it already.
And as a nation serves the Lord, so,will the Lord protect that nation.
~ BUT ~
If a nation turns it’s back on the Lord, why would that nation expect God to bless it?
A nation is a people
NOT a President!
So it doesn’t matter WHO is in place, because it was by God’s design anyway!
☆ The Most High is sovereign over all kingdoms on earth and gives them to anyone he wishes and sets over them the lowliest of people.
• Daniel 4:17
So men,
Get over yourselves, your ‘political ideology’ or your ‘national pride’,.
It is not the focus we should have.
That puts the world in the power place of our hearts and we should never serve that.
But as David said in this scripture;
☆ “You are my Master! Every good thing I have comes from you.”
• Psalm 16:2
So, talk politics, and serve God, through Christ, in Love and live in HIS peace, joy and be examples of that to others!
