I heard a cool song about Proverb 31 about 20 years ago that prompted me to call my wife; “My P-31”

As the fighter jet was, she was mobile, fast, able to maneuver in tight situations, powerful, and can be a weapon to be feared.

An amazing woman.

Sometimes though, she got hit with enemy fire, and occasionally she was shot down.

However, today my view of Proverb 31:30-31 is that it is really a proclamation for her husband (And kids.).

For  it talks about how to

  • Honor her
  • Reward her
  • Publicly Esteem her
  • Praise her

So, even though the proverb speaks about a woman’s characteristics that all women should aspire to…it is also speaking about HOW the people around her (Let’s be honest…it’s for the HUSBANDS!) should respect those qualities in those women.

So ladies, if Proverb 31 is really about the women of God, which many believe, and not about wisdom, which many others also believe, it is irrelevant.

Those characteristics are what EVERY woman should have, and EVERY one knows that, even though they don’t practice it.

And men, if Proverb 31 is about wisdom, which many bible teachers believe, and not women, which many other bible scholars believe…so what?

We all know that EVERY man is to love, respect and honor his wife, as all those words in this verse say, even though EVERY man is imperfect in doing.

So as Proverb 31 IS STILL the best example for the traits and behaviors of the woman of GOD, it is also the reminder of those around her to love and respect those qualities.

And to still love and respect her even if she does NOT live with the desires to apply those qualities to her life.

Because even if she isn’t a P-31, and chooses NOT to die to self, that is no excuse to NOT live with love and respect of GOD.

So, let us do that; Let us reward her by publicly declaring her praise.

A watch what happens then!

I love you guys!
