Proverb 28:9 reminds me of the teenager I know very well;
They want nothing to do with me, are not very polite to me, and even throw disrespect at me.
But when they want money, a ride or whatever their self-centered teenage mind is fixated on,
their requests do not seem worthy of my attention.
The difference here is that I WILL provide the money ride or a lot (Not all) of what the teenagers wants, needs or desires are, but GOD…
If you’re out, HE’S fine with that, and HE’S out too.
Another Proverb says it well: A fool in his heart says (The ‘there is’ was added later) NO GOD.
They are not denying the existence of God, but just the aspect of their life having a faith in God.
This scripture is so close to that, but I believe it is even more dangerous to the Christian.
For if the person who says they are a Christian
- Knows about God,
- Knows about Jesus,
- Knows about the Bible,
but do NOT completely
- Surrender,
- Follow, or
- Obey
the teachings of God, Jesus and the Bible,
Then God will not listen to that Christian, because, in reality…are they REALLY a Christian?
I know, that is between them and God.
But are you willing to bet your eternal life on it?
So if you are NOT following God’s instructions, do not expect answered prayers.
But that is not us, right?
I love you guys!
