Know the Root, By the Fruit
– There are churches that are supporting gay marriage.
– There are churches that are supporting drag queen shows.
– There are churches that are supporting collective salvation.
– There are churches that are supporting a socialist agenda.
– There are churches that are so subtle, you can’t tell if their off message.
Watch those churches. Look to see what kind of works come out of them.
For: You will Know the Root, By the Fruit.
Many of these churches are getting popular.
Many of these churches are getting a lot of press.
Many of these churches are filled with people.
Many of these churches have a lot of energy, have great music and ‘feel’ good.
~ But ~
Many of these churches are dead inside.
Even those that are filled, loud, energetic and fun, the fruit they produce;
Is rotten from the core.
☆ “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will recognize them by their fruits.
• Matthew 7:15
The Church of the world may use the name of Jesus, but still may not live out the Word of Jesus.
The church of the world is really ‘Anti-Christian’ because
It preaches it’s support of the culture more than
It preaches the confession, repentance and change
From the sinful behavior that the church was really created for.
Think about this;
We know that Jesus never hated the sinner, but the sin.
He doesn’t like sin so much, that He died for all of ours!
So, we see those outlandish churches.
Snake dancing, gay pastors, drag queens, and socialist collective salvation.
They are easy to spot. Their fruit is so rotten you can smell it a mile away.
But it is the church that is way more subtle, harder to discern from a distance.
THAT CHURCH that may have a message that is so very slightly different…it may add, subtract, or change the meaning of The Word here or there in it’s message.
How would you, or even worse, someone new in faith, recognize the core of THAT church, or the people in it?
You’ll Know the Root by the Fruit
Because it is NOT just a dangerous church, it is a deadly church…eternally deadly.
☆ Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
• Matthew 7:19
Brothers and Sisters in Christ;
If you are reading this, you are probably aware of this spiritual disconnect.
Most likely, you are in an expository Bible teaching church, or very strong accurate Bible believing church.
You probably know how critically important that this is.
But what if you aren’t, or what if you know others who aren’t.
What then?
How can you teach them how to Know the Root, By the Fruit?
Well…Let’s look at the Word.
What does Christ say about the Root of OUR Fruit?
What does Jesus say about where anyone can find the ability to bear fruit?
☆ I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for APART FROM ME YOU CAN DO NOTHING.
• John 15:5
When a person is IN HIM, they are different.
They walk by HIS word.
They are given a new heart.
They are also transformed, by the renewing of their minds.
– A church that is led by that heart for God,
– A church that speaks those mindful Truths of HIS Word,
– A church that speaks those words out loud,
– A church that then shows those convicted beliefs by living them out publicly.
Well…That is a church that is set apart.
That church will be teaching and being the example of that ‘born again’ life of a
New way of living,
New way of being,
New way of believing.
They will have a completely different manner, a manner so visible that it will be easy to see The Root By the Fruit
☆ So as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;
• Colossians 1:10
The best part of this, it’s not just a 1 and done.
We don’t just bear one crop of fruit, and then that’s it.
We get to bear fruit over and over and over.
The Lord tells us that HE wants us to KEEP bearing fruit.
When we continually recognize our wrongs,
When we continually confess our sins,
When we continually repent and change our direction,
We will be a blooming, fruit bearing branch of Jesus Christ our Lord!
☆ Bear fruit in keeping with repentance
• Matthew 3:8
So, be a peach 🍑 .
Be a fruit bearing, continually repentant, bold branch of the Vine of Christ.
And help others to be able to recognize, understand and stay away from those churches that are rotten from their core.
Help them to learn, as you also do, to;
Know the Root by the Fruit.
