Which picture do you choose?
You can picture the perfect spouse, which can rip up your current marraige
– Or
You can picture the perfect marriage, which can rip up your current spouse.
– Or
You can see the real picture;
2 imperfect people, that God has put into the perfect marraige for them to be in…Together.
Because too often, even in Christian marriages, if the picture is not perfect, it can get smashed and broken into pieces, with wounds to be had by all.
But that is not Gods desire.
☆ Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
• Colossians 3:13-14
God is telling us to use HIM as the glue to hold us together in times of trouble.
Because there will be times when WE WILL NEED TO FORGIVE, as the Lord forgives.
That is a truth no one can deny or run from.
Sadly, too many would rather be right, than happy.
To make their point, rather than to make peace.
But again, that is NOT God’s plan.
☆ Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
• Ephesians 4:31-32
So tear up the pictures of perfection you may have, look in the mirror and admit your imperfections, humble yourself and give your spouse a break.
Forgive them.
Show mercy to them.
Give them grace.
Serve them.
Esteem them more than yourself.
You can do it if you;
