Purity…a matter of the heart.
Way before any action is even taken, the thought must be born, and the heart must agree to it.
☆ Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
• Matthew 5:8
The enemy always goes for the mind.
But if God has given us a new heart, which we must allow and agree to, the thought of the enemy can be refused and no action taken on it.
• The enemy uses lies that are believable.
• The enemy uses lies that are contemporary to today’s culture.
• The enemy uses lies that sound good, and fun.
• The enemy uses lies to get the person to take actions of sin.
But the heart has to buy into that lie, for the action to be take on that thought.
☆ How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word.
• Psalm 119:9
So the responsibility is ours.
How do we get the ability to keep ourselves pure?
– By resisting the enemy, who will Flee
How do we resist the devil so he will flee?
– By training my mind by the habit of reading the Word daily.
How do we get into the habit of reading the Word daily?
– By having the heart of God – which provides that desire to KNOW HIM.
So,
Let us have that desire to desire to have that Purity.
Let us have that desire to be closer to HiM
Let us have that desire to KNOW HIM
So,
Let us ask God to give us that heart.
