Lonely. Are you?
Things that happen TO us can be the cause, but;
Things that happen BY us is usually the cause of our loneliness.
Let’s be honest, losing a family member, friend or even pet will cause pain, grief, and loneliness,
~ But ~
You probably will agree that it’s bad decisions we make that usually cause the most loneliness in our lives.
We can ruin our marriages and cause divisions within our relationships, and we now do it more than ever before in history.
How?
Quite often, with lust…pornography.
But this post is not about that problem…
It is about the SOLUTION!
☆ Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
• Isaiah 41:10
So, even though porn is man’s biggest enemy today in creating a huge lonely
‘Hole in the Soul’
There are many ways we can separate ourselves from friends, family and God.
So…what IS that solution?
What do we do?
REPENT!
Repent;
To turn from sin and dedicate oneself to the amendment of one’s life.
So, let us turn our eyes away from the computer, away from lustful looks at women, or whatever it is that puts barriers between us and others.
Let us dedicate ourselves to looking to God.
How?
Change Habits.
– What you do, if done regularly, becomes a habit.
– Many habits, when put together, becomes a character.
So,
• Prayer
• Bible reading
• Regular Church Fellowship
• Joining a small group
Are actions and behaviors that, when done regularly, WILL transform you….it will change how you think!
☆ Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
• Romans 12:2
Prayer will start communication between you and your Father In Heaven
Bible Reading will hear what He has to say to you.
Church Fellowship will fill you will His spirit and have teachings to lift you.
Small Groups will solidify it all, by having a small group of men you can trust, confide in, be safe with, and hear good feedback and get ideas and counsel from.
All of those individually will diminish being lonely.
All of those together will COMPLETELY REMOVE loneliness.
I know. I did it. It worked.
Please…believe me.
I struggled with drugs, alcohol, porn, anger, and was a criminal.
But this came true;
☆ Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
• Psalm 23:4
I know the struggle with loneliness can still be there for me, as the choice to sin is there begging for me act out in it daily…but
So is GOD. So is the solution.
Join me, and stop being lonely, as we strengthen each other in this daily battle, and walk away from loneliness.
