“Don’t judge me!” We hear by those who are the most judgemental, OR, by those who don’t want to be responsible for their behavior.

To those who say ‘Jesus told his followers NOT to judge’:
well…you are 1/2 right.

As our scripture in today’s reading states, we are NOT to judge those who do not yet know the mercy and love of God.
We are not to be judgemental of those who yet do not have the salvation through the saving grace of Jesus.

Why should we?
They don’t know what they don’t know.

They don’t have a heart for the God we would be basing our judgement on, and have yet NOT been transformed by the renewing of their minds.

So, THAT judgment is not scriptural, and it is not practical.
It would make no sense to judge an apple against an orange.

BUT:

One the other hand, we ARE to judge those who call themselves Christian.
But in a RIGHTEOUS way, not a SELF-righteous way.

We are to:
  • Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you.
  • Matthew 7:1

We have to be honest here…we HAVE to judge.
How will we know if we like, agree or even trust someone, if we do not have a sense of judgement?

How can we make business decisions with people without first  making a ‘Judgment’ call?

So, to those Christians who say ‘Don’t judge me’ I will say:
‘Sorry, the Bible has told me that I am supposed to.

But Christian, even more, is that I am also told HOW I am supposed to, and;
THAT is more important!
  • For judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.
  • James 2:13
So,
Let us have the love of Christ.
Let us have the mercy of Christ.
Let us have the compassion of Christ.
Let us have the forgiveness of Christ
&
Let us have the mind of Christ.

Therefore, we will be able to have the peace of Christ, combined with the wisdom of Christ, so we will have the ability to discern, understand and then judge with ‘righteous judgement’.
  • The person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgments for “Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.
  • 1 Corinthians 2:15-16
Because when we judge with the mind of Christ, we are not being ‘JUDGEMENTAL’ we are being wise, loving, helpful, and about our Fathers business.

I love you guys!
