Character or Comfort;
Which does God cared about more?

‘Dalmation Theology’
Ignoring the ‘Spots’ in the Bible that one doesn’t like.
Choosing to believe only parts of the bible one agrees with.

Ever talk to someone who does that?
Have you ever found yourself thinking or doing that?

Well, it’s not OK.
As the Bible specifically says;

☆ ~ ALL ~ Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.
• 2 Timothy 3:16

(Side note; At the time this scripture was written, the ‘scriptures’ Paul is speaking of, since the New Testament wasn’t written yet, is The Old Testament!)

But that’s not what the world of today says.

Today’s culture has infected the church so much that they;
– Teach the Bible to adhere to our current or fluid identity,
Rather than
– Teach the Bible to help us solidify our permanent identity.

So,
They only believe the parts of the bible they agree with.
If a Christian doesn’t agree with any part of the Bible,
Why would they live out that part of the Bible?

Then,
If that Christian doesn’t live out the part of the Bible,
How well do you think they will live out the parts of the Bible that they DO agree with?

Right…not so good.

Because, as we all know, some of the scriptures pierce our hearts. Some will convict us of our sin, and our need to repent, and to,clean up our character and that…well…that is
uncomfortable.

Sadly, too many Christians care about their COMFORT more than their CHARACTER.

So, they only believe only the parts of the bible they agree with.

But Jesus said something about that Himself;

☆ And if anyone hears My words and does not keep them,
I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world.
There is a judge for the one who rejects me and does not accept my words;
The very words I have spoken will condemn them at the last day.
• John 12:47-48

Jesus is saying here;
Do, or do not, do what you want’,
but one day there will be an accounting with God for it.

And,
The WORD that may have been rejected
Will be
That same WORD that will judge us!

So let us focus on our character over comfort as we walk in The Word.

ALL of the Word.

For His Word is so powerful, wonderful and will protect us.

☆ This God—his way is perfect; the word of the Lord proves true; he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him.
• Psalm 18:30
