FEAST OF MY FATHERS

“You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies”

Wow…to think on that…

While the trouble is around me, while those who oppose me are right there, while the challenges that I am facing are right in the same room with me, maybe even surrounding me,

God is preparing a feast for me.

Let us remember that when this was written, David knew that the custom of that day was when a person who made a meal for another, that they were considered the protector of that one who he made the meal for.

Example; In that time of King David, when one went to someones home for a meal, they were considered family under that roof while dining, and the person whose home it was, was responsible for you and your safety…your protection, kind of like your savior from any trouble that was outside the area of that meal.

So, even if you were guilty of a crime, or had wronged someone else, while under that roof, if they came to get you there, you were safe. No one could harm you while you were in that persons home and the homeowner would not let anyone come inside to get you.

He was co-signing for your life.

He was putting your life above all else.

David is saying here that God, even while he is being chased by Saul, surrounded sometimes by his armies, God is protecting him, feeding him, clothing him, strengthening him, empowering him…while his enemies watched.

He did it in their presence, as a testimony to His power.

Guys, tell me that is TOTALLY us too!

We feel surrounded, oppressed by our enemies,
BUT GOD…
How many times we faced dilemma after problems after hardships,
BUT GOD…
How often have we screwed up, felt defeated in life, or lost so much
BUT GOD…

And I bet we will never know just how many people around us, those we may have considered enemies, saw that feast that God was giving us, out of His love, in His peace, His forgiveness, His mercy, and His grace…

So…Let us relax, let us eat on the feast of The Lord (His Word) that He has prepared for us, as we are in the presence of our enemies (The world), and let us be HIS testimony of HIS power, majesty and love.

I love you guys!
